This CRN meeting will focus on three critical risk buckets:  Climate, Bias and Appraisal Quality Risk.

From the California fires to the devastating effects of hurricanes along the coast, climate risk assessment is at the forefront for risk professionals. But where do you start?  Cliff Rossi, Professor at the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business, a preeminent risk expert will share indicators to limit Climate Risk.

Bias risk is at the forefront of daily discussions. Do you have Best Practices established to manage this risk?   Melissa Malpass, Attorney for Alston & Bird co-wrote Appraisal Values and Lender Liability: Art, Science or Gamble?  Melissa will walk us through how to ensure loans are supported by adequate collateral while being mindful of potential appraisal bias.  What steps can a lender take to eliminate fair lending risk?

Appraisal quality suffered from stresses to the work force due to Covid 19. The loss in quality as a result of turn time pressures, exacerbated the challenges. What are the key issues related to appraisal quality?  Ken Dicks, Director of Appraisal Compliance and Initiatives at Reggora has surveyed the top risk professions in the industry to help assist in identifying and analyzing the current trends to develop a broader understanding of current appraisal quality monitoring efforts. Ken brings decades of expertise to provide insights to reduce Appraisal Quality Risk.
