Effective Date: October 1, 2026
The Collateral Risk Commission, Inc. dba Collateral Risk Network (“CRN”) respects the privacy of its members, event participants, website visitors, and other contacts. This policy describes the information we collect through our website, events, communications, and services, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. Responsible handling of information supports the transparency and trust central to CRN’s mission and vision.
We may collect contact and professional details, including your name, organization, role, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and interests; registration, membership, purchase, and communication records; information you submit in forms, surveys, correspondence, or event participation; and technical information such as IP address, browser, pages viewed, referral source, and cookie identifiers. A payment provider may process payment information on our behalf. Please do not send us personal financial information or other sensitive information unless we expressly request it through an approved secure method.
We use information to administer memberships, events, payments, and requests; provide publications, education, research, and other services; communicate about CRN activities and relevant opportunities; improve our website and offerings; maintain security and records; and meet legal obligations. We may analyze engagement to understand which CRN resources are useful. We use information for purposes compatible with the reason it was collected, subject to applicable law and the choices described below.
Our website and emails may use cookies, server logs, and similar tools to operate the site, understand usage, and measure communications. Browser settings may allow you to limit cookies, although some features may then be unavailable. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe method. Service or transaction messages may still be sent when needed to manage your relationship with CRN or provide membership services.
We may share information with service providers that support hosting, payments, event administration, communications, and analytics, subject to appropriate contractual and security protections. We may share limited professional information with event partners or sponsors only when disclosed at collection or when you direct or consent to the sharing. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a lawful organizational transaction, with appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information. Aggregate or de-identified information may be shared when it does not reasonably identify an individual.
CRN does not treat membership or event registration information as permission to disclose nonpublic personal financial information. If CRN receives such information from a financial institution or in connection with a covered financial activity, we will limit its use and disclosure to the authorized purpose and applicable legal exceptions, protect it under applicable contractual and legal requirements, and provide any separate notices or choices required by the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and its implementing rules. This website policy alone does not replace a required GLBA customer privacy notice or information security program if CRN conducts a covered financial activity.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and review access by personnel and providers. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal requirements, and legitimate recordkeeping, then delete or de-identify it under our retention practices.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message. To ask about your information, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern, email info@collateralrisk.org. We will respond as required by applicable law. You may also adjust your browser’s cookie settings.
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide any additional notice required by law.
